What's New in Service Buddy: AI-Powered Inventory Uploads, Stock Adjustments, and More

If you've uploaded a vendor catalog into your store software in the last month, you already know the drill. Rug sizes written as 14 inch" in some rows and 14'' in others. The "in stock" column with Yes, No, Y, N, and True/False all mixed together. Half the file fails validation and you spend the next hour in Excel cleaning it up before you can try again.

We just shipped the fix for that — and a handful of other upgrades along the way.

The bigger picture: Service Buddy is becoming a platform that does the work for you, not just a place to store your data. Most flooring software is a digital filing cabinet. We're building something that actually acts on what it knows. The AI-powered CSV upload below is the most visible example in this release, but it's the direction the whole platform is heading.

Here's what's new.

Service Buddy AI now handles your product uploads

Drop in the file. Service Buddy reads it, normalizes the inconsistencies automatically, and sorts everything into three tabs: what's new, what's an update to existing items, and what needs a second look. Anything flagged as invalid you can fix in one click — directly inside Service Buddy, no reopening Excel, no re-uploading.

What used to take an hour now takes a fraction of the time.

Stock adjustments on inventory

You finally have a real way to handle what actually happens on the floor.

A roll comes in damaged. You send something back to the mill. Your physical count doesn't match what the system says. Until now, fixing those situations meant working around the software. Now you can adjust quantities directly on any inventory item — up or down — with a reason and a full audit trail of every change.

Service Sales Report

Service revenue is real money, and most retailers don't track it the way they track product. We just added a Service Sales Report that shows everything you've sold — installation, binding, cleaning, padding, delivery, whatever you charge for — over any date range you pick.

Pair it with the existing Product Sales Report and you've got your full revenue mix in two clicks.

Global search across everything

One search bar. Customers, quotes, jobs, invoices, and purchase orders. Type a customer name and see all of their records in one view. Type a record number like INV-2024 and jump straight to it.

Works on the web and the admin mobile app, so you can pull up a record from the warehouse, the showroom, or a customer's living room.

Search for multiple products or services at once

Building a list of items quickly used to mean searching one at a time. Now you can type several at once separated by commas, or press Enter to turn each one into a tag. Up to 10 at a time.

Small change, big difference when you're putting together a quote with a dozen items on it.

Archive (and unarchive) confirmation on Quotes

A small but useful one. Archiving a quote now asks you to confirm first, so a stray click can't bury something important. And if you ever do need to bring an archived quote back, there's a new Unarchive option that restores it to where it was.
